Gray Hair

Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed that you have started to get a "few" gray hairs? Or then again have you ever looked in the mirror one day and suddenly noticed that your whole head of hair was gray? I think that we look at gray as a color that is not added to your hair, in fact it's a color that gets subtracted!

Well, pigment called melanin is what supplies our hair with its natural color. As we age, the melanin slows down thus producing more of a white or gray color. It actually takes you longer to grow gray hair because it grows only about a half inch per month. Gray hairs are also more resistant, so they stay in your head longer than darker hairs.

You are probably asking yourself, so what is she trying to get at? We often think that gray hair means that you're getting old and will soon be forgetful. The world in general likes to say that you're getting washed out and feeble even! The Bible tells something completely different, " Gray hair is a crown of glory;it is gained by living a godly life." Proverbs 16:31

So.........the saying goes respect the wisdom of your grandparents and elders.......this is so true. So are you now going to cherish your gray hair when you get it or if you already have it? Or are you going to dye it, if you do, you may be covering up a very valuable feature.

Think about it!
