Are You Kidding Me......Whooping Cough

It has been a few days since I have blogged. Understandable since I had surgery on Wednesday. I found a lump in my left breast and the Doctor removed it on Wednesday. I am feeling pretty good, it is just very sore and I can only pick up and handle so much, so I have been trying to do as little as possible.

The Bookworm developed a bad cough over the past few days. We took him in about a month ago with a terrible cough and he then had a bad sinu infection, his cough tapered off and then slowly started coming back. The Hubby took him back to the Doctor on Thursday and he has whooping cough, yes, whooping cough. Whooping cough is contagious, so he was out of school on Friday and will be out til Tuesday, and that is only if he seems better. He seems better today than he did yesterday, I have not heard him cough as much so far this morning. He has a slew of meds. to take, I believe 5 in all, including an inhaler that he has to take for the next 2 weeks once he is finished with his other meds. One of the meds. makes him very hyper! Once he takes it, it seems like he just ate a big 5lb bag of sugar! He bounces everywhere!!!

The weather here this weekend has been nice, too bad that the Bookworm is sick or we would surely be out in it getting some sunshine. I believe once the house is back to normal, all four of us need a break and need to go off for a weekend! Maybe to the Great Wolf Lodge:)

Pain + Percocet = Peaceful Sleep

Thursday I had surgery to remove 3 lipomas off of my left and right legs. I had two removed from the back of my left thigh and one removed from the front of my right thigh. I am doing well, just pain in both legs, but with motrin and percocet it's helping. I hate taking the percocet because it makes be go to sleep, but I realize that I do need to take it, that I don't need to suffer.

I have had lots of phone calls checking on me and several people from our Church have brought over meals, which really is a help considering that I can't get up and do anything and that the Hubby has to work. My Mom came over yesterday and stayed with me for a couple of hours, she also brought over a meal and brought me a beautiful arrangement of flowers. The Princess went back with her to her home when she left yesterday because the Princess has "Shadowing Day" today. She is shadowing my Aunt who is a Vet. Tech at a local Veterinary Clinic where they live. The Princess shadowed her last year and really had a great time. She couldn't wait to go again and has been looking forward to it for a few weeks now. I believe that one of the procedures that she was going to get to see and help with today was a ceasarean on a dog. How neat!

I hope to be up and better by the time Monday rolls around. I have been quite busy though while being confined to bed, I have been doing my Psychology and Theology work. I have yet to turn on the TV. I am really enjoying the two classes that I am taking.

Next Thursday please remember me as I go back to the Doctor to get my stitches removed. I will also be having another procedure done. I found a lump in my left breast a few weeks ago, so the Doctor will be removing it when I go back in. I am not looking forward to getting it done, but we want to get it removed and biopsied to make sure that it is alright and that it is not cancerous. I will feel a lot better when I know for 100% that it is fine. I will once again be laid up for about another week. It will be a lot rougher than this surgery that I just had because I will not be able to reach or carry anything, and of course I will not be able to drive either.

God is good and God is good all of the time. Blessings.
