Memorial Day, A Time To Reflect and Remember

Today is Memorial Day, a day to reflect and remember those who sacrificed their life for our freedom. They gave the ultimate, their life. Today not only remember those that are no longer with us, but also the families that they left behind. May God hold these families in His mighty hand and give them comfort and peace. Also, may we remember Jesus Christ whom gave His life on the Cross for our sins. May we remember the blood that he shed for us. If you have never given your life to Jesus and have never asked Him to come into your life and be your personal Savior, I encourage you to do so, what are you waiting for. You only have one choice in life to make that is really going to matter in the end and that is whether you choose Christ(heaven) or deny Christ(hell). Where you spend eternity is your choice, which is it going to be?

Bronchitis.....Asthama

For the past few weeks I have had another case of bronchitis. My Doctor told me last week that if I wasn't better with my cough this week to come back this week, so I did, this morning. Although my doctor couldn't see me, the one that did has helped! YEAH!! After me getting a chest X-ray it appears that my lungs aren't getting the full capacity of air that they should. I go for a pulmonary test next week, but the ruling seems to be that I have asthma. She gave me an albuterol inhaler and said that if I can start breathing better, it is safe to say that I probably have asthma. I did the first take of it earlier, and my cough has almost completely gone away! Thank you Lord! Maybe I will be able to sleep tonight without coughing!(although she did give me more robitussin with codiene and it is a higher dose than I have been taking the past two weeks!)

Thank you Lord for Doctors and for Doctors that care and know their field!

It's An "A" Thing

Today was The Bookworm's 5th grade Candlelight Breakfast and Awards Ceremony at School this morning. We enjoyed a nice breakfast with him(and yes it was by candlelight) and then they presented a few awards. The Bookworm received a medallion for missing less than 3 days of School for the year. Afterwards, we returned to his classroom where his teacher gave more awards. The Bookworm received a total of 12 awards! He received certificates for the following: Yearly Average of All A's, Overall Highest Average for Boys, Highest Yearly Average in His Science Class and Math Class and Social Studies Class, Outstanding Progress in ELA, Recorder Karate Master, Archery State and National Tournament Certificates, Morning Workout Award, Safety Patrol, and Science Award! We are so very proud of him! I had tears in my eyes, he is growing up and is now on his way to Middle School this Fall.

I also received a certificate and a gift for being The Bookworm's Class's Homeroom Mom for the year. The Homeroom Mom's ended the year by having a 5th grade cookout today, and it turned out very well. Thank you Lord for beautiful weather and an awesome day!

Now off to The Princess's softball tournament!

Life Is A Highway

Life is a highway...I believe that is part of a very famous song. But the saying is true. We have a highway in front of us everyday that we wake-up, every day that we wake-up is another gift from God. What you do with your day and your life is your decision. What are you doing with the highway that is in front of you? Are you riding it, or you going too slow, too fast or did you make a turn and go down a dirt road? Think about it.....

Last Week of School and A Four Day

Well, this is the last week of school for the kids! The last week of Middle School for the Princess and the last week of Elementary for the Bookworm. This year is a mild-stone in both of their lives(and Mom and Dad's). Friday it will all be over at 11:00....then we will be right into a Holiday Weekend. I enjoy long weekends when the Hubby has four days off, thanks Uncle Sam:)

As I type it is raining, it was down pouring, but now it is just a few drops. We are all praying that it storms more so that the Princess's softball game gets canceled. She is ready for softball to be over, it's not quite as fun when you have terrible coaches! She loves softball and wants to try out for the High School JV team this coming up year.

Dinner is ready and sitting on the stove, the Hubby called and said that he is on his way home. The Bookworm is upstairs on the computer playing the game that he loves to play on it. Me, well, today has been busy with taking the Bookworm for his final allergy testing and seeing the Doctor for his asthma. We're praising God that he is not allergic to anything and that he is doing so well with his asthma that the Doctor is lower his inhaler "steroid" dose. YEAH!!! If he continues to do well, he will totally come off of the highter steroid inhaler to the lower one! Thank you Lord, you are wonderful!

After the Doctor I took the Bookworm and signed him into School, ran a few errands and then made my way back to his School to take individual pictures of the entire 5th grade. They will use their pictures for a craft that they will be making on Wednesday.

I looked at our Summer calendar today and realized that this weekend officially starts Summer and that our Summer is full! We have a wonder vacation planned that ensures to be fun, while we go to a place where we havn't been yet. The kids will both being doing Summer Mission and Church Camps this Summer as well and the Princess will be taking a 5 week Summer Enrichment class which she is looking forward to do. Me, I plan on taking it one day at a time and having no agenda except on the days that need one! I am sure that our days will be full of sun, fun, swimming, four-wheeler riding, reading, sleeping in late, catching a couple of matinee movies, meeting Dad for lunch once a week, going to Carowinds to ride rides and to enjoy their Water Park with our season passes, going to the Library, having friends over, and grilling. And of course my most favorite thing....sitting in our swing in the backyard in the late evening enjoying a cup of coffee with my Hubby.

God's Hands

The Hubby called this morning after he got to work telling me of about the sudden passing of a friend of ours. I was shocked to hear the news. We had met him and his family when we were stationed in Italy, they had just recently last Fall moved back to the States themselves. I was really good friends with his wife and we served on the Board together for PWOC and kids were the same ages and the Hubby coached the kids' soccer team with him right before we moved. I look at the picture of the kids' team from that year and it makes me said. There were three coaches on the team that year, one being my Hubby, the other being Tom(whom just passed), and the other being Doug whom died earlier this year. They all three had talked about coaching together, and they had fun doing it. The Hubby had just seen Tom last week while he was down, so sad. I pray that God wraps this family in His mighty hands and holds them very close. As of today, their lives will never be the same.

Are you ready? God does not promise us tomorrow or the end of today, if you died right now where would you go? Is everything in order? Is your ticket punched for heaven or hell?

Rainy Monday

It has been awhile since we have had any rain, but as of last night, the Lord blessed us with some and it is still raining today, praise the Lord! My garden is also loving the rain! Everything has popped up in my garden and it all looks so pretty and green, can't wait to eat the fruits of mine and the Hubby's labor!

Today was a good day. The Hubby had off today, so it was nice to spend some time with him. I fixed us omlettes for breakfast after the kids had gone to school, they were yummy! I washed clothes nearly all day, and finished reading my book that I had been reading. It's nice to be finished with School, I'll take another class when the kids go back to school this Fall. Very proud of myself, I got an A in Sociology, thus still maintaining my 4.0 GPA! The Hubby, on the other hand, signed up for another class and it started today, he enjoys taking them and he is also doing very well with a GPA of 4.0 also!

Don't know what I am going to cook for dinner tonight, I big pot of chicken and dumplings would be nice with the rainy weather, but that is not going to happen, it takes all day for them to cook. Would be nice to grill since the Hubby is off, but it raining. I'll figure out something:)

Talked about vacation today and Memorial Day weekend. We may go somewhere, not sure where. We will probably go to Chicago on vacation to see my brother and his wife, we haven't been to see them yet up there, so that would be fun, the kids would enjoy that as well. Looking very forward to next Friday, the last day of school, it seems as if this school year has really dragged by!

Today is my slowest day this week, all of the other days this week are booked! Tomorrow the Princess has a softball game and I made me a Doctor's appt.(I think I have a sinus infection), Wednesday the Princess has a consultation at the Orthodontist(it looks like braces are going on her this Summer) & she has her rising 9th grade meeting at the High school too, Thursday is my Homeroom Moms' meeting at the Bookworms school and his 5th grade production that night at School, and Friday is Volunteer Tea Recog. at his School along with the Princess's Softball game that night! VERY BUSY! The Hubby and I are really looking forward to Saturday evening, we are going to see the Christian Comedian Tim Hawkins with some friends from Church and my parents. If you've never heard of Tim Hawkins go to his website and check him out, you'll love him!

Well, time to throw another load in the dryer and washer, the Hubby went to pick up the Bookworm from School and they are going to get peanut butter(if you know us you know that this is what the Bookworm eats EVERYDAY) and possibly go to the Archery shop! The Princess should be home soon and I'll spend some time with her:)

Happy Monday!
